HGV CAT C1+E
START YOUR TRAINING TODAY
With a Category C1+E licence you will be able to drive rigid trucks weighing between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes with a trailer attached, allowing for a total weight of up to 12 tonnes under your control.
Who should train?
This is a step up and a natural progression from the standard Category C1 licence. Many drivers choose to train and take the test in order to broaden their employment options further down the line.
A C1+E license is also suitable for those who hold an existing C1 license and are working for an organisation which is looking to expand its transport and distribution capabilities by adding trailers to the fleet.
In some cases, you may be required to hold a C1+E licence if you are intending to tow equipment for commercial purposes, or items such as boats for the purposes of leisure. The added flexibility that this license offers in terms of tow weight can be a benefit in a wide range of situations.
What are the requirements?
Drivers who want to earn a C1+E license will need to undergo a medical examination in order to be eligible. And for those who have already completed a C1 course, this will be a familiar process.
You will then need to get a provisional license to drive this type of vehicle by applying to the DVLA. We will be able to help you with this application and also ensure that you are ready to take the theory test if necessary.
At this point you will be ready to move on to the practical training course. Please just contact us if you want any further advice, or to request a quote for training costs. Your new career is waiting for you.
